Dr. Shekhar Challa, MD
Shekhar Challa, M.D. has over 25 years of experience as a Board Certified Gastroenterologist. Dr. Challa is the award-winning author of “Winning the Hepatitis C Battle” and “Spurn the Burn, Treat the Heat: Everything You Need to Know to Beat Acid Reflux Disease,” for which he received the Readers Preference Award. His most recent book is “Probiotics for Dummies” (Wiley, 2012).
In private practice since 1987, Dr. Challa received his board certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology from Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He is the co-founder of the Kansas Medical Clinic (KMC), where he currently serves as President. Dr. Challa has been the principal investigator for 17 different clinical research trials for such leading companies as Glaxo, Roche and Bristol Myers.
Dr. Challa is also the founder of Osteoporosis Services, the largest mobile bone density testing company in the Midwest, which provides services to more than 150 rural hospitals.
Affiliated with more than eight hospitals, Dr. Challa also serves as a member of several boards including: NutraCenter, Proctor & Gamble, AMSURG and My Medical Records (Australia). He has been interviewed for his expertise by dozens of radio programs and in print by such top publications as “AARP” and “Seventeen Magazine.”
His latest venture includes being the co-producer of the first-ever probiotic video game, “Microwarriors: The Battle Within” (available summer 2012).
