While doctors work very hard to ensure our patients are healthy and happy – we get to travel a bit too. Tomorrow I have the opportunity to visit Los Angeles to attend the International Probiotics Association World Congress 2012.
On the official website of the IPA – here’s a short overview of the convention:
“IPA World Congress is a meeting that brings industry, academia and healthcare under one umbrella every 2 years to watch presentations on probiotic related topics ranging from global regulatory affairs, latest clinical trials and other scientific related matters. The program is high quality, purely international (participants come from approximately 40 countries) and endorsed by the American Gastroenterology Association.” – http://www.internationalprobiotics.org/news/?id=22&t=1
Probiotics are a fascinating topic to me and I’m pleased to have the chance to hear from some of the leading probiotic researchers about what’s new on the probiotic front. While the United States is still years behind the rest of the world in regards to education and use of probiotics in our daily lives, it is my constant goal to keep you up-to-date on these important health issues.
Speaking of probiotic education – my newest book Probiotics For Dummies is available for purchase on my site. I’ve covered a variety of probiotic-related topics, plus you can start cooking with probiotics and prebiotics using the 20+ recipes included.
